Mule demonstrates "head down" for briding at a clinic at Stone Chapel Farm, Fayetteville

“Ground Manners” is a one day clinic that will help the participating horsemen gain (or regain) control of their horse in ways many people never experience. As a result, the person will gain confidence in the horse as a calm, willing partner while the horse gains confidence in the human as a savvy leader worthy of following.

Some of the topics covered in this clinic are:

Teach your horse to catch you (the “Hook-on”)

Head-down for haltering

Desensitize to your tools

Establish “Personal Space”

Hind quarter yield from the ground

Back-up with lead rope and body language

“Direct and drive” (Forward)

“Circle –up” (Longeing with a purpose)

Desensitize to “spooky object”

Proper approach to handling the feet

Knots to know for safely tying a horse
